Wake Up Ready

Why are people turning to semi & permanent makeup for a more natural look?

For most people, the idea of facial enhancements like permanent makeup on your face or Botox immediately conjures images of ‘90s and early ‘00s celebrity permanent and semi-permanent makeup or Botox gone bad. But what these types of procedure were 20, and even just 10, years ago is not what it is today. They have majorly improved, so make no mistake — this type of enhancement is back, and it isn’t going away any time soon. Here is the break down some of the most popular options out there.

Microblading

Microblading is a form of permanent makeup, performed by adding pigment into the skin. Specifically, the pigment replicates tiny hair strokes for a fuller looking brow. Microblading provides an option of eyebrow shapes, from following the natural shape of your eyebrow to adding more volume or touching up the arch. Microblading is available for blonde and brown eyebrows. Microblading is recommended for a more natural brow look. Microblading is not suitable for clients with oily skin.

Powder Brows

Powder brows is a cosmetic semi permanent makeup technique designed to create eyebrows with soft powder effect, very similar to powder makeup. Powder effect is done with a shading technique using a permanent makeup device, which is similar to a tattoo gun. Powder brows are recommended for a more filled in soft makeup brow look, as well as for someone with all skin types. Microblading and powder brows can be applied to both men and women. Powder brows are recommended for people living with alopecia, trichotillomania, or any other condition that causes hair loss.

Lash Line Enhancement / Permanent Eyeliner

This treatment involves tattooing a light black line of pigment throughout the lash line, think of it as a light permanent eyeliner but with a natural finish. Lash Enhancement work is super soft and natural looking, leaving a beautifully deepened lash-line without any commitment.

Lip Blush Tattoo

Lip Blush is a permanent makeup procedure that enhances the symmetry, shape, and color of natural lips. Lip Blush can give your lips more volume as it can stimulate natural collagen production which can create more visible fullness. It can last up to 2-5 years.

Lip Fillers

Fillers, such as Juvederm and Restylane, work to treat fine lines, wrinkles, and loss of volume in the face. Both Juvederm and Restylane are hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, which is a naturally occurring molecule found in our bodies. HA helps to restore moisture and volume to the skin. When filler is injected directly to the lips and Vermillion border, it creates volume and brings back definition, leading to a fuller, poutier lip while still producing a soft, natural appearance.

Lip Flip

Alternatively, a new popular cosmetic treatment for the lips is the Lip Flip. The Lip Flip uses Botox or Dysport – which are neuromodulators (yes – the same Botox you get in your forehead!), to relax the orbicularis muscle in the top lip. By injecting Botox or Dysport in this muscle, the top lip is encouraged to relax and ‘flip’ outwards to give the illusion of a subtle, fuller lip. It is a popular choice for those wanting to correct a gummy smile or for someone who doesn’t want to add volume.

Lash Extension

Let’s face it, who doesn’t want eyelashes that are a bit thicker, more fluttery and luscious? Lash Extensions are designed to lift and enhance the shape of your eye—think of it as contouring but for your peepers. As a bonus, once you have them applied, you really don’t need to worry about slapping on eyeliner or eye makeup, as the work of getting a dramatic lash line has already been done for you.

All eyelash extensions are customized in length and curl to suit your specific lash length, desired look and provide a healthy set of eyelash extensions that will not damage your natural lashes.
