Recipe: The Malungeon - immune boost with a kick

Mixologist Brent Williams has outdone himself with his brand new creation, the Malungeon. Treat yourself with this unique paring of sweet & tart!

This unusual rye drink brings together the rye from Kentucky and blends it with the tartness of tamarind, an African fruit (hence the name). Orange infused honey and St. Germain Elderberry liquor brings dramatic flavor to this drink while sweetened lime juice joins the tamarind in this most unusual tug-of war of slightly sweet and slightly tart bourbon experience.

(This has become our biggest seller since making it public just weeks ago at Surin of Thailand.)

Ingredients:

4 dashes of Orange Bitters

2 ounces Bulliet Rye

1 ounce St. Germain Elderberry Liqueur

2 1/2 ounces Orange Honey

2 ounces Lime Juice

(sweetened or unsweetened to taste)

1 ounce Tamarind Simple Syrup

1 Tablespoon Orange zest

Instructions

Prepare in bowl. First combine your liquid ingredients then add your orange zest. Use shaker to chill and serve in chilled glass.

I choose Bulliet Rye because it is a brand of Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey produced at the Kirin Brewing Company Four Roses Distillery.
